Terms & Conditions
Version 2026-10-29
These Terms & Conditions govern your use of Campus Connect (the "Platform"), a place where university students from different institutions share study notes and talk about their courses. By creating an account you confirm that you have read and accepted these Terms and our Privacy Policy.
Zero tolerance
Harassment, bullying, threats, hate speech, nudity or sexual content, abuse of any kind, and sharing links or contact details are not tolerated. Violations lead to immediate removal and a permanent ban, and serious cases are reported to the authorities and may lead to legal action. See section 4.
1. Who can use the Platform
- You must be a currently enrolled university student and at least 18 years old.
- You must register with your own, real details and your own student ID card. Your account may only be used by you.
- One person, one account. Creating additional or fake accounts, for example to vote for yourself, is prohibited.
- New accounts are reviewed and approved by our team before they can be used.
2. Your account
You are responsible for keeping your password secret and for everything that happens under your account. Tell us immediately if you suspect unauthorised use.
3. What you may share
- Notes and messages must be your own work or material you have the right to share. Do not upload copyrighted books, paid course material, exam leaks or anyone else's work.
- Every note is reviewed by a moderator before other students can see it. We may reject, remove or edit any content that breaks these Terms.
- You keep ownership of your notes, and you give us a non-exclusive licence to store them and show them to other members of the relevant rooms.
- No links and no contact details. Do not post websites, links, e-mail addresses, phone numbers, social media handles or messaging-app invitations in chat, note titles, profile text or reports. They are blocked automatically. The only exception is the LinkedIn profile field on your profile.
4. Prohibited conduct and zero-tolerance policy
The following is strictly forbidden anywhere on the Platform, including chat, notes, profile information and reports:
- Harassment and bullying: insults, intimidation, stalking, unwanted repeated contact, doxxing, or targeting someone because of their gender, religion, ethnicity, sect, disability, university or any other characteristic.
- Nudity and sexual content: any explicit, pornographic or sexually suggestive text, image or file. Content involving minors is reported immediately and without warning.
- Abuse: abusive or obscene language, threats of violence, encouraging self-harm or violence, blackmail.
- Illegal activity: fraud, scams, selling or leaking exams, hacking attempts, malware, impersonation, spreading unlawful material.
- Manipulating merit points: fake or traded votes, vote rings, multiple accounts, or any other attempt to cheat the ranking system.
- Spam and advertising, including links and promotion of other services.
5. What we do when rules are broken
- Immediate action. We may remove content, withdraw merit points, suspend or permanently ban an account at any time, without prior warning for serious violations.
- Evidence is preserved. We keep the relevant content, account details, logs and technical data (including network and device identifiers) for as long as needed to investigate and to support legal proceedings.
- Authorities. Conduct that may be a crime, such as threats, harassment, blackmail, sexual content, child exploitation or fraud, is reported without delay to the competent authorities, including the cyber-crime authorities of the country concerned, and to your university where appropriate. We cooperate fully with law-enforcement requests.
- Legal action. We reserve the right to take civil and criminal action against anyone who harms other users or the Platform and to claim compensation for the damage caused.
- Reporting. Use the report button on any message. Every moderator and admin action is recorded in an audit log.
6. Appeals
If you believe a moderator made a mistake, such as a rejected note or merit points deducted after a report, you can appeal once per decision from the Appeals page. A different reviewer looks at it, and the outcome is final. Appeals do not apply to reports made to the authorities.
7. Merit points and ranking
Merit points reward helpful contributions. They have no cash value. Votes are checked automatically, and votes that look fake (for example between accounts that share a device, or two accounts that keep voting for each other) earn no points. We may correct or reset points at any time if we find abuse.
8. Copyright
If you believe content on the Platform infringes your copyright, contact us with a description of the work and the location of the content. We will remove infringing material and may ban repeat infringers.
9. Availability and liability
The Platform is provided "as is". Notes are written by students and may contain mistakes, so check anything important. To the extent permitted by law we are not liable for losses caused by user content, interruptions, or loss of data. Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law.
10. Ending your account
You can delete your account at any time from Privacy & data. We may suspend or end accounts that break these Terms. Sections that by nature should survive (including 4, 5, 8 and 9) continue after termination.
11. Changes
We may update these Terms. If the change is significant we will tell you in the Platform. Continuing to use it after the change means you accept the new version.
